Last year, President Clinton, passed the FIRE Act which set aside $100 million for US fire departments. The City of Bolivar is applying for some of this money. It will be a 10% matching grant. For more information on the grant, visit the United States Fire Administration and Federal Emergency Management Agencies web site. There are six categories to apply in: Training, Wellness/Fitness, Vehicles, Firefighting Equipment, Personal Protective Equipment, and Fire Prevention Programs. We will be applying in two of these catagories: Training and Equipment. Items we are looking at include:
